One of the most significant challenges facing any Organizational Board today is the lack of Board Qualified Technology Expertise. With both Technology risks as well as potential rewards becoming more critical to the success and survival of for-profit as well as non-profit institutions, the presence of someone on your board today to provide advice and governance in the areas of Cybersecurity, Legal, Human Resources, as well as Vendor and Partnership vetting is no longer a luxury but a necessity.
There is precedence for specific types of expertise on a Board; when the SEC defined the role of a Qualified Financial Expert (QFE) as part of The Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 they used a competency-based approach. The Digital Directors Network has applied that blueprint to also define what it means to be a boardroom Qualified Technology Expert (QTE) and designed and built the only boardroom certification training program focused on preparing technology executives for their expanding role in the corporate boardroom. I received my certification in this program in December of 2019.
I
n addition, I also hold a certification as a Human Resources Generalist through George Washington University. These certifications combined with the real-world experience of acting in a direct advisory capacity to a variety of organizations (most recently as an advisor to the Board of Trustees for Saint Joseph's College from 2017 through 2019) means that I have the qualifications to assist your Board, as a member of an advisor, through the Information Technology challenges that exist today.
I am currently available for compensated for-profit Board positions as well as a limited number of uncompensated non-profit Board positions. If you find that you are searching for QTE-level expertise, please reach out to me at
